Bryston BLP-1
by Davey Dave
I have had this table for a couple of years now. It is now my primary table, with a modded Thorens TD124 as my secondary.
The Bryston is remarkable; during my long listening tests, it compared favorably with the Clearaudio Ovation, and outperformed the VPI's I was listening to as well as most tables apart from a higher end SME that was not in my budget anyway.
It provides rock solid speed stability, an excellent main bearing and a low noise floor, with .02% wow and flutter, and 82dB rumble. For a relatively simple plinth design, any resonance getting through to the arm must be cancelled out by the arm design--put simply, this performs on par with the $8k tables I was considering and really lets all the micro-details rise up.
So I saved the money and got this and upgraded my cartridge budget. Highly recommend this table. It is most likely my end-game deck.
