Pioneer sx780 up and running

Post by Progman2112 » 12 Jul 2019 05:33

My buddy's 780 wouldn't come out of protection so he gave it to me.I told him I'd check it out and if i was able to fix it I'd give it back. This would be my first attempt at a repair. So after searching here for solutions i looked for cold solder and found one on left power pack pin, applied heat to repair solder and good to go.Very cool, thank you guys.

I'd like to learn more about this stuff. When you say you "looked for cold solder"....what exactly is that ?

Solder joint becomes damaged, and in my case there was a crack in it,the flow wasn't smooth. Took a magnifying glass and searched in recommended areas.

It's a solder joint that's broken. It's hard to see. At a casual glance, it looks OK, but if you look close up, or under magnification, you can see that it has come undone. Usually, resoldering, with a tiny bit of added solder, will fix.
