What Tonearm

Post by Nunfa1 » 26 Apr 2019 12:45

Hi there.

I've just bought a Debut Phone SB from the auction site but it doesn't look like it has the original tonearm. It does have the standard OMB 5E cartridge, but there is no anti-skate or counterweight scale.
Does anyone know what it might be? Thanks.

It looks like the older Pro-Ject arm, and you are missing the anti-skating weight and fishing line; this is a cheap part. As for the counterweight scale, I'm not sure about that but it's not imperative.

You might recheck the box and packing material it came in.
The weight and string could have came off during transit.

You can still get the anti skate weights from Henley Audio, that tone arm does not have scaled counter weight, the weight that is on has small screw in it so you can adjust for the stylus weight, for the record

It's the original Debut tone arm.

Tracking weight is altered by releasing a holding screw and moving the weight (page 13 of the manual linked below).
Anti Skate weights and all other spares can be purchased direct from our site.
