Post by Reildeal » 07 Dec 2018 00:57

Hello I have a Emerson model 521 turntable and am looking for a cartridge, repair shop is having a difficult time locating. Anyone know if i can replace OEM with a newer version or something to make this turntable functionable? Specified Cartridge is: L-40A9-47

My research says that's an old 1950's player.
Have your "repair shop" enlightened as to a reputable vintage parts supplier.

Why more people DON'T know about Gary Stork is beyond me! I recently had to "clue in" one of my local repair shops about him and I'll KEEP spreading the word! The Voice Of Music web site is a great source for these old styli...If it's vintage, Gary's bound to have it or know where you can get it! =D>

I've had plenty of long conversations over the phone with Gary - I usually order by phone anyway.
Besides talking about how he and his family are doing, and "catching up" on various things, he tells me that he's usually swamped with orders, particularly around this time of year.

The man's got a gold mine of information and products, an excellent web site, and I hope he continues to provide the top-notch service that a lot of us depend on for a long time.

Next time you talk to him, tell him he can blame it all on the Engineers here!

This is a 1940's player (the manual says 1946). And it also only plays 78 RPM discs. Cartridge will be a 3 volt crystal cartridge. This is if the turntable is original.
