I recently picked up a JVC AL-A110 turntable from my parents. It hasn't been used in probably ~20 years, and when I first took it, the plate would turn reliably if the stylus was moved over the platter.
Fast forward a few weeks (while I was waiting for a new needle to arrive), the plate no longer turns reliably. I took off the metal plate and removed the belt, and *sometimes* I can see the motor turning. I usually have to nudge it a few times (where I can feel it the motor start and stop), but after a few times, it turns somewhat smoothly.
However, when I place the belt back on and replace the platter, the plate doesn't spin, even if I nudge the motor through the hole on the plate a few times. I can see the motor spinning, but it doesn't seem to be spinning with sufficient strength to turn the plate.
Could I get some debugging Help? Any suggestions very much appreciated.

A drop of oil maybe works wonders.

Keep in mind that WD40 is not a lubricant. And only a small drop fine (sewing machine)oil into the bearing is needed.
