Sorry, I missed that you already said it was a flat-head. The one in my photo is only 1/16. Should I try for something larger? Too bad they didn't choose a Philips. That would make it easier to lock in.

Flat head screw driver. You can just push it through the hole. That screw driver should work, but as I mentioned in my post, you'll have to fish around a bit until you find the slot in the screw.

Good news-- I was able to get my screwdriver inserted and locked in. It is even lightweight enough that it hangs there when I let go of it. However, the adjustment is very sensitive as another posted mentioned.

No matter what settings I tried, I could not make the phone app work for me. The pattern always appears to be in motion. I believe it is working as intended though. I am resorting to using my ears and comparing the recording time to the digital copies. It started off pretty good but I find that it loses sync as early as the third song. There's a chance I can still squeeze it on an 80min CD. We'll see. :)

Still curious if the static light source method will work better but I need help pinpointing the correct type of light. LED and small incandescent bulb did not work.

So for now instead of the turntable being fast by many seconds, it is now running slow by a couple of seconds.

Use one of the VE patterns and just place the TT under an incandescent light

Have not had one in my household for over 22 years! The only thing that comes close was the aforementioned Mag Lite.

I will try it out tomorrow. :D

Okay, I think that did it! I am seeing a stable pattern emerge after adjustments under the new light. Took care of both the 33.33 and 45 speeds. A quick comparison to a digital copy looked good!

Now I need to go re-listen to some vinyl. :D

This is probably redundant. But it's pretty easy to find the slot once you push through the small flat head driver.I will add that the adjustment is extremely sensitive.Sometimes I thought I didn't even move the screw, and it changed the pitch.Took a lot of back and forth. I got very, very close but when I a/b it with a digital copy, it eventually still gets off a bit after awhile. Have fun!

Okay, maybe I'm dense or something, but mine either doesn't work, or I'm doing it completely wrong. Is that black cover-like thing what is being called a bushing? I've pushed my screwdriver "through the hole" but what it seems to be doing is just puncturing that black, rubber-like, hole cover. And then when it feels like I've found some traction with the tip of the screwdriver, it makes no change in the speed. What am I missing here? The black, plastic base of the TT has the speed numbers on it. And then inside that is a metal plate with the black "hole" (approx. 1/8 in., which is actually more like a piece of rubber/plastic that is covering something else inside--perhaps the slot for the screwdriver/tool tip?). That black rubber bit is starting to tear apart from applying pressure with the screwdriver tip.

I guess it finally worked. It took probably 6-8 full turns to make a small adjustment. But I guess it could be that I wasn't actually getting any purchase on the screw (or whatever adjustment slot is in there).

My new Denon DP-300 F was running a little fast. Enough that I could tell. I found this thread and decided to try adjusting the speed using the pots described above. I used a jewelers flat head screw driver and hunted for a couple of hours. Never could seat on the adjustment pot. With all the monkeying around I did manage to really screw up the speed. I decided to try using a 0.50 English hex wrench and this seated quickly. I used an RPM app for my Iphone to measure the RPM while I made very small adjustments. It took a few tries but I finally got it. Also please note that when using a metal tool you will ground out to the motor case. This causes the motor to run at full speed.

This is a common adjustment on many turntables, and I can say from experience, that it is a royal pain in the ass. Just getting the screw tip lined up in the pot can drive you up the wall. The pot should have been enlarged and made with a phillips slot. :!: #-o :( :x :cry: :evil:
