ZYX Omega

Sounds good.
Looks strange. Is the blue orb supposed to do something?
If you throw away all the advertising rubbish that is written in audio magazines and look at this system from a technical point of view.
This ball (cube, pyromid, cylinder) allowed to partially balance the generator ZYX placing its center of mass directly above the tip of the stylus. But as the cartridge is part of the larger system (cartridge + tonacm) with its center of mass, then, one should assume, such a design of the cartridge simplifies the coherence of the system as a whole.
This, of course, somehow, influences the sound, but I also see that the cartridge is very carefully assembled and the wiring is very well divorced, the magnetic circuit is copper-plated, as in speakers. But writing about it is useless.
It is easier to write that the energy of the Earth passes through the ball and fills the vinyl groove to the very edges, while the stylus, bathing in this energy, makes divine vibrations without touching the walls and the money will flow like a river ))

Whale's tooth which is over 50 years old. ))
I still remember when the whaling fleet entered the Golden Horn Bay in Vladivostok.
He was met by the whole city.

Today I upgraded the cartridge for our forum member.
Above the body of his cartridge, someone mocked slightly, for which I did not understand. Now, “103” has found a new image for itself, of course, not without my help and kindly betrayed components from the "VSN" company from St. Petersburg.
This one is within my grasp, sat at the post office waiting for me to collect it on Friday morning!

It's fine ! ))
I hope you have installed a cartridge on your player?
Does it harmonize with your interior? ))

Very interesting, I received two messages about an unsuccessful attempt to deliver the parcel, but there is still no message about its receipt.

"whale's tooth"? :-k What in the world? ... So, what makes a cartridge special? is it the Diamond, Safire stylus? its cut: Nude, Gyger S, Gyger II, elliptical; is it the coils? copper, silver plated, gold plated: is it the magnet? Is it the body-make- up: whale's tooth, wood, Palo Santo, resin: is it the cantilever: cactus, tin, platinum....? Seems to me that the more the extravagant the materials, the more people seem to read into their quality.... Is that just banal exuberance?... or just baloney? Just wandering. :-k

I am sure that the main difference between the cartridges in their design. I created my own design.
Bone is just a small touch to good sound - a tribute of respect and harmony. ))

It's light, well damped and looks nice.

A hublot watch with moon dust in it is baloney. At what point a cartridge becomes a luxury item and engineering takes second place to bling is tricky. Ortofon were casting sapphire bodies for their cartridges in the 80s so its not new. Lyra use ceramics in their models.

But for a bespoke cartridge, one of a kind, no reason not to treat oneself :)

FWIW I have some cartridges that are great and purely functional (Denon DL-109, Panasonic EPC-205CII) and some that are pure theatre (Ortofon Rohmann-machined from solid, Ortofon Rondo- Compressed wood fibre and urushi laquer). I appreciate them all but do have a soft spot for the Ortofons.
