Toshiba SR-770 Turntable

Post by Mbsurfcity » 27 May 2019 02:29

I have. Toshiba Turntable SR-F770 that won’t hold speed/pitch after playing for a few minutes, after a while it starts speeding and slowing on its own, before this starts the pitch knob works to set correct, but once the problem begins cannot get it stable. Any ideas!

The first step is to clean the inside of all switches and controls with a good contact/control cleaner, to remove the surface oxidation that has built up over the years. Deoxit and Nu-Trol are two that I have used.

Cheers,
Alec

Thank you, I did try looking at a few items, cleans and oiled a few items, but did not use electrical cleaner yet, will try that next.

Cleaned contacts and did not seem to help, I do hear the motor pulsating when the problem starts, that seems to be causing the speed to pulsate in about 1 second beats making speed bump up, then back to normal every second? Any other ideas?
Here is a video of the unstable speed pulsating,
