Re: Did you buy any Vinyl today?
Wham! - The Final 1986 UK original double album, NM NM from Discogs
One of the rare times the seller was superbly accurate. He mentioned the vinyl should be Mint but since it was opened, he'd listed as NM (rightly so), but my god, this is absolutely pristine!! Very happy, get a hankering for some 80's pop sometimes! :D

Re: Did you buy any Vinyl today?
I just got a really great copy of this particular Paul Desmond LP which I have been looking for.
https://www.discogs.com/The-Paul-Desmon ... se/2944418
Both LPs s are NM and appear / sound to have rarely been played.
There is not even a slight scuff mark on either LP. :)

Re: Did you buy any Vinyl today?
I just returned from visiting my brother-in-law who sent me home with some of his albums. Damn The Torpedos is the highlight as it's a near mint first press. I purchased Nashville Skyline at an antique store in his town. It's also a first press from the UK in VG-VG+ condition. It plays beautifully. I'm pretty pleased with myself. I've been looking for the two records mentioned above for quite some time.

Arrived today, a new copy of one of my favourite albums, Wish You Were Here, remastered apparently from the original analogue tapes, can't wait to see how it sounds.
Also got two albums from a group I have only recently become aware of, Post Modern Jukebox
"Postmodern Jukebox, also widely known by the acronym PMJ, is a rotating musical collective founded by arranger and pianist Scott Bradlee in 2011. PMJ is known for reworking popular modern music into different vintage genres, especially early 20th century forms such as swing and jazz."

Be interested to see what you think, i've got all their albums from that remaster range and think they're top notch.

Steely Dan's The Royal Scam. Awesome to hear this again on vinyl. Fagan and Becker were so attentive to detail and their masters were noted for being incredibly good...as well as their attention to actual pressings.
Larry Carlton on guitar! Yeah!

Impressed; dead quiet with no pops or ticks and the music is very dynamic, it sounded like it had more bass than my early copy but it was not overwhelmed by the bass it just gave it more depth. All in all I'm happy as my other copy has a small scratch on side 2 which although only affecting one track for a few seconds was annoying meSpyderTracks wrote: ↑29 Nov 2018 03:02Be interested to see what you think, i've got all their albums from that remaster range and think they're top notch.

Motorcycle - As The Rush Comes (Remixes) 2018 single
One of my favourite tunes from back in the day, nice to see some more remixes of it, was only £3.50 so had to pick it up!

Re: Did you buy any Vinyl today?
GP-8 was the record number, if I remember right... I loved Free Form Guitar and South California Purples...so not like the pop-Chicago! Terry Kath was such a great guitarist.bhuston wrote: ↑15 Nov 2018 19:38Notice the original price and shrinkwrap on the Petty. Great shape but, my price was $16, not the original 7.99 :( .
What year did the Chicago come out? Can't find a copyright on it anywhere. And it has GP8 everywhere on it for some reason, what does this mean? It has something to do with Columbia I think.

Re: Did you buy any Vinyl today?
Yesterday I visited a local record fair. There was a lot of second hand vinyl and I manged to find some nice titles:
The first record I found was one that I already had found in a bad shape, but this one was in very good condition. It is "A trip into the body" by the Dutch Jan Timman, he realeased if I'm correct only one (maybe two) synthesizer records:

The second record I found is called "Meditation" by Siegfried Schwab. It was only 1,50 euro's, it is guitar music. Not very special, but I like the outer sleeve:

I found "Chariots of Fire" by Vangelis for just 1 euro!:

As I'm collecting all the essential (?) Kraftwerk albums, I was still looking for Trans Europe Express. Rather than buying the new pressing I found this one (Spanish pressing!) and decided to buy it for 20 euro's as both sleeves and record look near mint:

Re: Did you buy any Vinyl today?
How about an original pressing of Rodney Dangerfield No Respect ") https://www.discogs.com/Rodney-Dangerfi ... ase/778879 .....bought this one today as a Christmas present for my 20 year old who has this year discovered stand up comedy and admires the old masters as well as the new. This LP will be a nice addition to his others which include Steve Martin Let's Get Small (Brokkoli on Discogs suggests that this album has the worse cover of all time LOL) & Wild and Crazy Guy among others.
I think I will start another thread "Who else is buying and enjoying comedy LPs?"

OMG, I'm a huge fan of comedy and didn't think to look for it on vinyl, but after your mention I looked up "The Goons", the fathers of stand up and they actually have a whole suite on vinyl (I guess that's obvious but had completely escaped me).Gravitar8 wrote: ↑02 Dec 2018 13:19How about an original pressing of Rodney Dangerfield No Respect ") https://www.discogs.com/Rodney-Dangerfi ... ase/778879 .....bought this one today as a Christmas present for my 20 year old who has this year discovered stand up comedy and admires the old masters as well as the new.
