Audio Technica AT95E discontinued
But the good news is they are launching a whole new range to replace it with more stylus options including a microline for £149.

Interesting. That could be a good donor source of microlines :)

Looks very similar to their recent DJ carts.
I wonder if the new styli will fit the old bodies?

Notice the cheaper ones are made in China, the better models in Japan.
The plastic carapace with its's rounded corners looks new, but the metal body underneath looks the same. The text touts higher output, transients, etc. I wish they'd publish the resistance/inductance figures so we'd know if it was really new.

I read the title and pretty much looked at my screen like a deer in headlights :)
I can't explain how much I love the AT95E without going on a fanatical tangent....so I'll just say that I'm glad it's not really "dead".

It is great to see such a large choice of styli. But is is going to be electrically identical?

With the nice assortment of styli offered, this is looking good.
Good news.

A nude elliptical under £100 and a new head shell too. What’s not to like?

Thanks Chiz! The resistance/inductance are different (higher) with the new model. That explains the higher output. I didn't really care for the old model, but this one may be worth exploring.chiz wrote:Full specs have now been published:Snead wrote:I wish they'd publish the resistance/inductance figures so we'd know if it was really new.

I like the captive nuts integral with the VM95 cartridge body - makes installation easier.

The old generator is lower inductance so might be interesting to see how different it sounds with the new styli.
