I can personally vouch for Adam's expertise at Turntable Experts in Southold, Long Island, NY.
I found him on the web and emailed him about my 46 year old Zero 100. He replied and based on his
knowledge: 35 years as the service mgr of Garrard USA, I knew my TT would be in capable hands. Being I live not far from him, I drove out there and met him in person and explained about the history of my Zero and agreed to the fees to have it restored to like better than new! It took about 3 weeks and many hours to "unstuck" this TT.
It was in storage in the original dbl box for 40+ years, plenty of time to have that "grease" convert to an adhesive and freeze virtually every moving part!! In his 35 years servicing Garrard's, he'd never seen one so stuck!
I felt bad and honored? to have that distinction. You have to be patient and methodical to work on complex mechanisms such as these TT's, and he's worked on 100's of Zeros.
He kept me up to date on his progress and I knew I was going to receive an amazingly restored TT. Well he did a couple of days of testing, checked all connections, alignments, adjustments and it worked flawlessly!
I asked him to change those 3 motor mounts as the rubber was still decades old if not worn from actual use and the idler wheel was replaced as well. He threw in some grey hookup wires to get me started and gave some inside info how to adjust the lead in for the tonearm if it was needed. I bought a couple of accessories for the changer that I never owned previously and it was an amazing experience to sum up! He's worth the time and money, old school he is and there are few like him still around, so I'm lucky to have found him.
