If you're  , Big B, I'm officially "Looney Tunes"!
And to celebrate that fact, I think I'll throw on this 45'...
Anyone else wanna follow me on the psychologist's couch??? :-k ...I'll keep the seat warm fer ya!
Let's not forget that having more than one cartridge is good for convenience...Do you think I wanna keep taking the cartridge off of one turntable in order to play it on one of other turntables??? That's sheer madness! One reason I have three different examples of my favorite cartridge...And why I have several extra headshells, too!! Don't get me started on the 78's, either! [-X
Big B5515 wrote:While one good cartridge may do the job, some have more than one turntable, or collect older records which require different sized styli. I personally have more than 10 cartridges, all but 3 mounted on a turntable at all times. the 3 extra are a DL110 in a headshell for my main Rega turntable, a AT3600 with 78 stylus in headshell for my ATLP-120, and a spare AT 95e still in the box. On the other hand, I am a little crazy as well.
Yeah, I was probably a bit harsh there, I wrote it just after I got up, and probably wasn't at my best, mood wise. But I have to add, I don't know why people have more than one TT! I will be upgrading soon, and when I do, my other TT will be back in storage or sold.....If I have a superior product, why would I want to use the inferior one? Each to their own, I suppose, but I just want a 'healthy' obsession with vinyl. It's all good, as long as people are happy.... :D

okay....enough is enough...I am boring myself as well as anyone who is reading this.
very dependent on turntables, tonearms, and systems.
Love my Mitsubishi lt-30...Technics Sl-1100a...Technics SL-MA1....Mitsubishi lt-22... Technics SL-10 and SL-7 and my Elac Miracord 50h turntables among many others that I need to be winnowing out. Lots of experimentation with them and various components and speakers. Its a lovely addiction that harms no one and is wonderful and healthy to participate in. Keep that vinyl spinnning!
don't know if i voted right but i included carts in my drawer i can use in case of emergency which are:
AT91 (Poor but honest)
Grado Black (lifeless but good quality)
Shure M75 cs (never use it i don't know anything).
but my current cart, never dismissed her is a beautiful four years lady today, is her birthday, and she's very Gold... Grado Gold! =)
Not this year, for once. But I have agreed to do substantial work for a charity, over the Christmas period (my wife and I haven't had a holiday in 8 years). Got a *big* gift for the wife, too, happy to say.
You'll notice that it's quite an old cartridge, as I have been after a Kontrapunkt for many, many years. Similarly, I finally picked up a Zu Audio Denon 103 too - they've kept me on their list for 4 years and were kind enough to ask if I wanted one from their latest batch. Not too sure how long they will keep making them.
Nice to hear about the charity work, and in regards to the lack of a break, you know what they say, " a new cartridge is as good as a holiday"! :D But seriously, you should go on a nice holiday, even if it means being away from your cartridges for awhile.

:D  I know, I know. We've promised ourselves 2 next year, even if it is only camping... meanwhile, our records should sound a little better.
