SL7 bearing lubrication

had a look at the massive sl7 threads on here,but couldnt find anything on the main bearing.

stripped mine down today to recap it and realized its a lot different to the standard technics fayre,cant see a way to disassemble it to clean any gunk out thats in there.

so any words of wisdom guys?

trying to get hold of genuine technics oil is a bit hard nowadays so i'll see if i can disasemble the bearing somehow,clean it and shove some sae40 synthetic compressor oil in there.

after a bbq and copious amounts of meat and booze i thought id set to.

disassembling the bearing isnt that bad when you get the main pcb off,its the same as every other technics bearing out there,but has this little top hat arrangement on it




the bearing shaft still had a little oil on it,but it was utterly filthy,but dirty oil is probably better than no oil at all.





also found this cap on its last legs,electrolyte had leaked down the legs and caused a nice amount of green fuzz.



next thing is to order more caps,diagram says a 33uf but theres a 47uf on the board in its place,and i dont have enough 47s to finish the job.

oh well,another beer and cold burger then!
