White Stripes mostly, with a bit of Belgian new beat thrown in for good measure.

Liesbeth List
After dragging out Pixies 'Doolittle' for yet another airing I had my first listen to the Lisbeth List 'Zingt Jaques Brel' album. It caught my eye when I was visiting my partners parents, along with a wonderful Mireille lp. I've heard some excellent english translations of Brel but this is really different - Brel Dutch Style! I'm gonna have to give this back but I'm definately going to hunt down a copy for myself, its worth it just for the beautiful rendition of Laat me niet alleen (If you go away). Superb. Cheers JaS

Re: currently playing
I´ve been mad about funk music almost one year now. My vinyls are new reissues and used ones (mint), some of them are 180g pressings. James Brown: Payback, Sex Machine (live), There It Is; Graham Central Station: Graham Central Station, Release Yourself; Skull Snaps; Parliament: Mothership Connection; Funkentelency vs. Placebo System, Motor Booty Affair, Funkadelic: Maggot Brain; Curtis Mayfield; Isaac Hayes... Now I´m waiting for Betty Davis: Nasty Gal LP to come to my dealer... It´s maybe friday. Nam!

The last few night's records: Soulful Strut -- Young Holt Unlimited (musically disappointing) Machine Head (Stereo (I have in CD4 and SQ also)) -- Deep Purple - Kicks ass! 461 Ocean Boulevard (Stereo (I have in CD4 also)) -- Eric Clapton -- yummy! The Complete Tommy Dorsey Vol 2 1936 -- Tommy Dorsey -- 1977 issue of 1936 material -- great! Next: The Who by Numbers -- The Who Earlier Today at the Wendsday old jazz sessions at work : A variety of old jazz, swing, and show tunes (via cassette - sometimes the quality content outweighs the audio quality!) Fat Cat and the Manassas Festival Jazzers -- Cd from the original tapes that i recorded in 1975 for WGTB-FM Washington, DC. -- I can burn a high quality CD. I don't have a record lathe.

Best album bought in the last weeks is Daniel Lanois' Shine: it is becoming a masterpiece in my collection. Anyway recently i also cleaned from dust some Jon Hassell albums (i saw a concert of Jon in Milan) and Philip Glass works: i bought the soundtrack of Naqoyqatsi and, even if it is not so impressive like Koyaanisqatsi, it is a beautiful album which recalls the best Glass of the eighties. I didn't realise I still had this; it belongs to an ex-girlfriend from long ago! Aussie political songs with good tunes and lyrics that don't make you wince (chumbawumba anyone?). I played this to death at the time but never grew tired of it.

Images and reflexions
Recently i have been reviving my Mike Oldfield albums.
They sound so much better in vinyl...they are warm.
Especially the LP Crises, and Ommadawn.
And also OMD and Electronic.
Simply...fantastic...
