Got my splint off, now I'm in an immobilizer boot! It feels so good. Now I'm gonna peruse my new SD Gundam book while listening to Return to Forever. My mom saw this band live. I think she said they were the opening act!

With several iconic albums passing their golden anniversary release it brings to mind that I too have been around for that much longer......Hot Rats is the second solo album by American musician Frank Zappa, released in October 10, 1969.

Damn this album. I've been cursed and the songs are so imbedded in my head it's nuts. Also, I recommend checking out the Roxy and the London recordings of this musical. They are WILDLY different in style between all three versions. It's pretty insane how much it changed from the initial London show to the next year at the Roxy and then the movie the following year. It's wild how fast it went from a scratch track by Richard O'Brian to a movie in only 3 years!! All the while mainting mostly the same cast except for Janet and Brad!
Check out the demo!
This damn album is too good. Tim curry is so good in this...

Your selections really jive with my tastes! I grew up around Zappa/Beefheart and strange jazz like Sun Ra from my dad and Earth, Wind, & Fire/Return to Forever and other funk and disco dance grooves from my mom!citizenarcane wrote: ↑17 Oct 2019 00:41https://i.imgur.com/GEGSh4H.jpg
