Picked up a DP-1250...no rca cables??

Postby ggentle » 20 Apr 2017 20:23

I found a dusty Denon DP-1250 in my employers storage. She said, "Hook it up and play some records!" After I dusted it off and began the initial setup I noticed there were no RCA channel cables to connect the turntable to my amp. In fact, there is no visible place for them anywhere that I can see. What am I missing here??

Looking at the owners manual you should have a red and white RCA male plugs. They may have been removed. It has good specs, and a denon D 103 MC cart I think is an old standard, that can produce quality sound, although many say that the servo arm has some sonic limitations, that may give you the best out of the cart. The table and arm may need some adjustment due to age, and it is not simple.

Thanks Freddymac1. I did download the manual. I might need to find a local repair guy to get those cables. Its a beautiful turntable that I'd love see restored.

Does it look like the wires were cut off? I know how nice they are, I picked up a DP 52F about two months ago. It is the first table that I can play and clean a record with an old discwasher without breaking the Quartz Lock Light, or hear any warble in tone. I had always wanted one but could not them, back in the day.

Did you check the underside of the turntable?

I have no personal experience with this model, but it appears the DP-1250 came without tonearm when new.
"The Denon DP-1250 is the same model as the DP-1100 but comes without tonearm."
So the tonearm that was fitted might have a connector somewhere at the bottom.

Maybe you can post some pictures?
