Hello,
I have tried upgrading my turntable (DP-300f) with a new cartridge (DL-100).
I thought this was a common upgrade.
The replacement went fine with a standard protractor, but when I tried to have sound something weird happened.
I use the DP-300f pre-amp and the amplifier is a Yamaha r-n402 connected to Line 1. Speakers are passive.
With the DL-110 (and I tried pluging back the original DP-300f cartridge), as soon as I press start, I hear a "heart beating" noise. If I push the volume up, I can hear the music in the back, but the noise is completly dominating.
The wiring is not complicated because of the wire color. I think I got it right.
I phoned Denon product support and they told me that the issue is likely because the DL-110 is moving coil. However, they did not tell me how to solve the issue. I would be fine to buy a pre-amp such as Cambridge audio azur 551p if needed. It would be nice to get some inputs from knowledgable people before proceeding with the purchase!
Thanks!
