Have owned this FL7 II model turntable since new in 1990. Just reinstalled it in my system after being properly stored for many years. Works OK save one issue. The tone arm drive stops in two places when tracking through an LP. I removed the player case and did a visual of the tone arm function using the advance button to manually cause the arm to move to the left full cycle then back to home rest position. No obvious causes for the tone arm sticking were observed. Because it had been stored for a long time, I put it through dozens of left/right cycles hoping a tight spot in the mechanism might loosen up. I gently nudged it through the two rough spots each cycle. It did improve the function but when playing an LP it still stops progressing on about the third LP track then again on the last track. The tone arm drive cord stringing looks OK.
Any troubleshooting tips or suggestions for solving this will be appreciated.

Re: FL7 II Turntable
Don't know if you are still waiting for a response, however, check out page 7 of 32 in the service manual.
Does the worm gear turn freely when driven by the tonearm drive motor. Has the belt become loose taken on a "set" and not able to drive through the difficult sections...... :-k :-k :-k
Check the tonearm tracking guide rods, are they free from sticky grease...... :-k :-k :-k
Hope this helps and if you are still out there welcome to VE.... :)

Fred, concerning the guide rods, what is the best lubricant to use after I have removed the old grease?

Struck out finding the PS-FL7II service manual. Tips on finding it?

Hi! rmhamil, how did your repair effort for the tracking problem go? Sounds like I have the same problem with "sticky" tracking, so am gathering info before I tear into her.... Thanks!! :-k

Re: FL7 II Turntable
Replaced the arm drive belt and a little cleanup/relube and it's working good as new! Pretty good for 25+ year old turntable!
One thing I noticed was there was a surprising amount of lube slung around inside....
