Hi all,
I have recently bought a Yamaha 2010, some Bose 901 and it came with a Sony hp488 stereogramme.
I do not have the original speakers but have plenty of other low fi I was hoping to hook up,... until I noticed there is only one port on the back for each speaker!?
How do I hook up some more conventional speakers with two wires to this system?
I wondered if to hook only the pos red cable and maybe run the other to the earth post.
Please advise before I try my luck.
I do not have a owners manual.
Thanks, Jim

I was thinking of wiring some Warfdale Diamond speakers up to this,... if I wire the + to the male prong part of an rca and the - to the outer ring,.... do you think this is how the original Sony speakers would have been wired? Anyone any experience with these old Sony TT’s and this setup?

Yes the way you decribed is how they get hooked up. Cheap older speakers came that way. Just take long old RCA cables and chop off one end and attach to your speakers.
