Three singels came in today. Well, one is a single, and two EP's. Let me tell you about them.
All three are from Portugal. Portugal had its 'own way of composing music' so to speak. Sometimes they made a 3 or 4 track EP out of 2 succesfull singles, with a and b side(s).

The most important one for me is an EP by the Greek group Aphrodite's Child. The single 'Lontano Dagli Occhi/Quando L'Amore Diventa Poesia' (I sure hope Kindsaluv can help translating those titles....)are two Italian songs, being made for the San Remo Festival 1969, and only sold in Italy. Therefore, to get that single outside Italy is quite expensive. Then I saw that there was Portugese version, still in Italian (...) with the extra track 'Day of the fool' in English. It is a wierd song combination, and after a long search I have it.

The next one is an EP by Francoise Hardy. Se had only one hit in Holland with 'Tout les garcons et les filles' (all the boys and girls)

The last one is again a Portugese only edition: Santana with 'Oye Como Va/Samba pa ti

As partly discussed in a different thread, these three came in.

The two Lennon-based EP's are a real treasure, but also the help EP is great. It is very special, because it has the James Bond tune before the song starts, only done in Mexico. I now have the single and the EP, both with that tune!

Thanks VM, I am very happy with them. One thing though, the red and white EP's are........33 1/3 RPM, so I guess the title 'what 45 did you buy today' is not entirely right. I guess there is no section 33 (7"), so I hope it is allowed......

I bought the 7" 45 of Cool and the Gang's Funky stuff and More Funky Stuff on the flip. More funky stuff is the one. It's the song that started the dance The Robot. Remember? It had a constant strummed F which went on for a couple of minutes and absolutely put one in a trance, hence The Robot. Oh how Cool! I couldn't be more pleased. Totally Chuffed!!

I love Kool & The Gang, but I've got to look out for a better copy of "Wild & Peaceful"...Any differences between the 45 versions and the album versions, Indi? :-k

By the way, the first time I heard "Funky Stuff" was on a K-Tel compilation, "Super Bad Is Back"... Good primer of 70's funk, though! =D>

Well, I bought this 45' today in a place that sells Hallmark cards...

42799
42800
42801

There were also 45's for Tina Turner's "The Best" and The Cars' "Shake It Up"...I like that Hallmark does these, esp. in 2018, where new ones are scarce, other than RSD...I hope they do more! They make great gifts, too! 8)

I bought four 45's today. Two of them are Elvis ones, both are in picture sleaves. The other two 45's are just in normal sleaves. Elvis Presley, Let Me Be Your Teddy Bear/ Loving You. Elvis Presley, Heartbreak Hotel/ I Was the One.
Those Olddies But Goodies (Remind Me of You) And the song Sheila/ Save Your Kisses.
