are there 2 golden earrings? The one I remember is from the 70's and their one and only hit was Radar Love.
No.They are the same band. Golden Earring started in 1961 as The Golden Earrings. Changed to Golden Earrings in 1967 and then changed to Golden Earring in 1969.

They have been around for a long time.As far as I know they are the oldest rock band still performing today!

Golden Earring is indeed a band which is still going strong today. Not only that, but besides the fact they make an album once every or every two years, they had more hits one can count. They scored many nr 1 hits in Holland: Back Home/Radar love/When the lady smiles/Dong dong diki diki dong/Weekend love/Twilight zone.....this is just by head. Also look at 'My 45 RPM picture gallery' where I placed a picture (March 2018)with a lot of their singles.

Thanks DB, my collection is only part of what Golden Earring made. I have most of their material on CD, and also on DVD. Been to several of their live-concerts, and they do accoustic sessions as well. Try Youtube for the clip of 'When the lady smiles'!
I watched your Flamin Groovies advice from 1972, GREAT, and indeed it can be compared to what Golden Earring did that year.

This is a local band here in North Carolina.
I've seen them many times.
Great band with a raw bluesy rockabilly sound!
Matt Walsh on guitar and Austin Hicks on drums. You should check them out!
Unfortunately Austin past away in March of 2017, Rest in Peace

This is an old video I made when I first got this record about 4 years ago.

I was just re-ordering my singles bin and played a few. I had to listen to this one,
as it is one of my most-favorite songs of all-time.

This is one record I am very, very glad I have. :)

"A Whiter Shade Of Pale" Procal Harum (12 May 1967)
"...her face, at first just ghostly, turned a whiter shade of pale."
