I am loving this thread already, chevelosm! And I'm sure you will get plenty of responses!!

Here is everything I got with my beautiful "baby", my 5000a!! Tell me...For $250.00, where else are you gonna find one this complete? Considering the excellent condition of her, I think I did good...

31396
31401
31398
31399
31406
31408
31412
31435
31434

It even came with the correct replacement driver boards (F-6013) due to a defect with the original F-1040 boards...

31483

Here's another look at the inside...

31487

She was a one-owner machine after being sent over from Guam as a gift from the owner's brother...The owner had a Carver receiver that he loved already, and was looking to sell some of his "extra" vintage stuff...The unit was serviced by a reputable local electronics shop a few years back, and then, put into dry storage...The guy had recently retrieved it when he sold it to me...I couldn't be happier, either! 8)

She's absolutely gorgeous, and sounds even better!

By the way, chevelosm...That's a nice amp you got there yourself! =D>

Nice amp VM. It's nice how the vintage gear has been taken care of from the original owners. Keepers for sure. What state did she come from? Mine came from NY and was purchased from a hifi store called Grand Central Radio, New York in 1975.

Hey, chevelosm...Thanks. She comes from MI, by way of Guam, of course...I heard that many of these audio pieces were bought overseas and sent here by servicemen or others stationed around the world...One nice thing is the build quality of these machines...You just can't beat the vintage equipment, and she's working fine with my Pioneer and trifecta of Duals!

If an SR-212 were to come up at the right price, I might be tempted to acquire it, though...Lots of potential with that one...Of course, there are many great Sansuis out there from the SR-222 to the SR-838 to the SR-4040 and SR-2050C...

Is Sansui French for without UI?

That is a very nice looking AU-9500 Amp you have in your collection.

I currently have two Sansui receivers, a 2000X and a 9090 which I got from a member of this board who had too many great receivers, and not enough room to keep them all.

The 2000X is rated at 39 watts/channel and the 9090 at 110 watts/channel. They both sound lovely.

And the original box, too! Wow!! You're certainly adding to your Sansui Empire there, chevelosm...Maybe a vintage Seven or Eight Deluxe model should be on your radar, too, for a secondary system for the basement or garage...That way, you could have a representative from all eras of Sansui's greatness...Really, though, there are so many great amps and receivers, it's hard to pick ONE winner...

The other is in shipment. It is a Sansui SR-2050C. I have high hopes for it as it is the best of the three I own.
