I listen with AKG K 701s. I can't afford new ones, I took a chance buying them at the flea market. As a matter of fact I've bought all my headphones at the flea market. The others were another set of AKG studio type phones and a a Sennheiser HD 550?. I use a Yamaha MA10 portable mixer as the headphone amp, fed from the tape out of a Carver C2 preamp.
I'm partially deaf and the headphones are a better listening experience for me.

I may spend more time wearing Sennheisers, but more music listening for enjoyment is by Altec Lansing 19s. Woofers are not horn-loaded, so ticked floor-standing. BP 30 Definitive Tech surrounds are also floor-standing, as are Carver AL-III studio monitors.

I love the AKG K52s - in my view they give a well-balance sound and (most important) are comfortable to wear for long periods; they are among the few sets of headphones that are comfortable for glasses-wearers.

For speakers I'm using the Q Acoustics 3010s, which I picked up as an impulse purchase when on special offer at a well-known hifi retailer in the UK. I wasn't overly impressed with the 2010s my dad bought some years ago, but in my setting they work well both for music and speech. I also have a soft spot for the JBL Control Ones; your ears soon get used to the lack of booming bass!

Yamaha NS-144s in their own space on the shelf unit and a pair of Celestion Ditton 250s on crates that get a listen now and again. Why? Well, someone gave them to me...

A pair of Q-Audio Concept20s on Q-Audio Concept20 stands

For small bookshelf speakers they sound great.....

They replaced a pair of KEF Cresta2s which had their tweeters damaged when i moved house. The Concept 20s sound better than the Cresta2s did.

For headphones I use either Sennheiser HD25iipro or Bose QC35II depending on the source. Both are great.

Q Accoustics Concept 500. Previously Dyn Audio floor standers. These 500s are awesome, base is well defined, vocals sound superb on a valve system.

Vintage JBL L100 Centuries. Purchased a pair from original owner who had not used them in 10+ years. Drivers were in excellent condition, but I re-foamed and re-gasketed anyway. Re-capped the cross-overs with Wima audiophile caps, re-wired with OFHC cable. Stripped and re-finished the cabinets, came with fabric speaker grills rather than the foam "waffle-board," so no replacement needed. Built hardwood stands to raise the cabinets 14."

Sound fantastic! Driven with vintage Krell KSA-50 amp and KSP-7B preamp, Denon DP-35F TT w/Denon DL-103R

Currently with a Pair of Polk tsi500's and a 100w Yamaha powered sub. On paper may seem cheesy but driven by my old Pioneer SA5800 amp the sound is remarkably deep. The bass is creamy not crisp, mids and highs are there and well defined. Can't really crank it up as the amp is too small but at low and medium volumes in my small space it really is great sounding.
