My primary speakers are Advent Legacy II's,haven't found any modern speakers that excite me enough to upgrade.Yet. Not a fan of the beam box ported speakers currently in vogue. Ever now and then I do pull out my Mission 732's just for a little strange. Also running an Energy XLS 10 sub for movie and rock out time. Amp is a B&K EX442, pre is a B&K Pro 10 MC Sonata. Old guy,old gear!

Arfur, I love the sound of Epos also. They like a lot of power to sound their best, as most 4 Ohm speakers do. You probably already knew this.
I'm hoping to pick up a pair of used Els 303 on the cheap this week to go with my Audes Blues. Hope you continue to enjoy them.
Cheers,
WillO

Main 5.0 system is 3 ESS AMT1B (rebuilt twice and updated to the current woofers and passive radiators with metallized mylar caps in the crossovers) and 2 ESS AMT1 in the rear.

Modern Mixdown system used a pair of JBL EON612.

Old radio studio uses a pair of large Advents.

Bookshelves on OEM stands necessitated by spousal approval factor, but they sound great.

Just picked up a mint pair of Epos els3 bookshelf speakers to go with my main system. I'm presently running them on the second system. Too lazy right now to have to pull out the cabinet and mess with the wiring again at the back of the amp. Great sounding LITTLE hombres. :D I will be mounting them on Sanus System 36 inch speaker stands.
Cheers,
WillO

Hi All

I’ve been reading hundreds of old posts since joining a few months ago and learned a lot. This is my first post having just taken the poll so thought I’d post as well.

My speakers are World Designs A25XLs

Not the usual as they were originally a diy kit which I bought second hand having been built by the first owner. They work close to a wall, good stereo image, sound clear and detailed and more like real instruments than any other speakers I’ve owned (previously I was using Spendor S6e floor standing speakers). A great bargain.

Still got my Stax system but also have B&O6000 actives for small scale music (flat) and AKG K702's for quick and easy listening (these upgraded Grado SR80's that I was getting rather p--d off with because of the hollowed out mid).

I have a somewhat unorthodox setup. JBL 8340 full range 2-way speakers re-purposed from a THX movie theater. I have added ribbon tweeters to those and upgraded the crossover caps. I'm using a pair of Clair Brothers 15" scoops also re-purposed from a professional touring sound system from my days as a musician as subs. It is bi-amped using NAD 2200's to push everything.

Think about the definition in the dialog you have heard from those THX theater speakers.

I'm running a set of bi-amped Kef Q100s, and an ancient sub picking up at about 45Hz

Just picked up a mint pair of Epos els303 floor standers to go with my els3s book shelfs for the back up system. Very musical speakers that don't take up a lot of room. Together they sound great. Epos are the type of speakers that you can listen to for hours. Great for jazz lovers like myself. :D Still may buy another set of 3s to pair with the Audes Blues.
Love those 4 Ohm speakers. Good clean power will be rewarded.
Cheers,
WillO
