Orbe felt washer?

I need some help with the placement of the felt washer, on my Orbe. Does it go on the platter or on the lp? When put on the platter, it seems, that there isn't enough threading available for the clamp. Also, the plastic washer around the platter nut: does it go with the domed side up, or down🤔

First of all, I own a Gyro SE, and not an Orbe. Hopefully if I give incorrect advice, an Orbe owner will correct me.

It's my understanding that the felt washer is only for the Gyro clamp, not for the Orbe. I do know that the domed portion of the washer around the platter nut is meant to face upwards.

Hi,

A fellow Orbe owner here. As mentioned above the felt washer is for the Michell standard record clamp so don't use it on your Orbe. The plastic washer; the domed side is meant to face upwards, when the clamp is screwed on it shapes the record so the outer edge on it is pressed down against the platter. When you put thicker records like 180g or 200g on the turntable you first remove the plastic washer from the platter and when you're about to play records with "normal" thickness then you leave the washer on.
