May I ask where you got the acrylic cover?

I have a similar cover for my Gyro, tabletop version like that, I'm not sure what the metal bar piece on the back is- mine doesn't have that (possibly a hinge?) although I don't think a hinge is practical on that type of cover. I can say I believe mine looks to be of a slightly thicker gauge- it's really well made. I've also dealt with the folks that have a store on eBay for virtually any TT cover, even custom sizes. I put the name of the company below. It sells for under $200.00, which actually is not a bad price for a cover of this quality.
(I have no affiliation with them, I've just been a regular customer and have purchased several covers from them.)

J-n-B Audio Pro Series
Item number for that cover: 183426965077 (U.S. Ebay site)

**P.S.: Just noticed you are in the U.K.- I believe they would ship it there, but I know you guys have import duties and VAT and all that good stuff, so there's that......

Yes, pity there wasn't a UK supplier, they look very good. But as you say, with $100 shipping, import duty and 20% VAT they become very expensive.

It is indeed a hinged dustcover, which was standard on plinthed Gyros before the SE (Spider Edition without plinth) became essentially the standard.

The one in the photo has a clear acrylic plinth. Mine, which dates from the early 1980's has a black plinth and originally came with a clear dustcover. I bought the table used and the dustcover was a bit beat up, so later on had a custom dustcover built for it in smoked black acrylic.

After that, I had to cut out/modify both the back section of the plinth and the rear section of the dustcover when I installed my second arm. I always remove the dustcover when playing.
