Not quite sure what you are talking about as all the PLX-1000's are just re-badged Hanpins. Check the plate on the back, if it says made in China then you have nothing different to the rest of us... someone is telling you porkies :^o

I think you're getting confused with the PLX-500, Pioneer DJ Direct Drive Turntable. All the PLX-1000's I've seen have the same markings as yours, Pioneer Professional Turntable. My 1000 has exactly the same markings so not so uncommon. Not sure where you got the 500 production run figure from as there must be thousands out there with the Professional Turntable marking on them.

You also say that you purchased your deck 2 years ago, the PLX-1000 was released in August 2014 and I got mine in January 2015, the cost on release was £599, so yours was a bargain at £400.

My personal opinion is that it is a good deck but hamstrung by being a poorly constructed Hanpin design which can be easily bettered by any of the other major EU, US or JP brands, for not much more cash at all.

On my deck there is no Pioneer DJ mine was built before Pioneer sold out there was only 500 made & I'm not talking about the PLX500 mine is the Pioneer PLX 1000 Pioneer it's self had nothing to do with the making of the PLX 500

I refer you to my previous post... Are your sure we are discussing the same deck??

Sorry to disappoint but NONE of the PLX-1000's have Pioneer DJ on them! ALL the PLX-500's DO! Pioneer DID NOT not sell-out, they wanted a deck to try to cash-in/resurrect/copy the original Technics 12** DD deck, unfortunately they decided to use Hanpin as the manufacturer, therein lies the problem.

I'm sure that the PLX-1000 and the PLX-500 are built in the same factory!

I think they are. Maybe not in the same location, but made by the same producer. I don`t think that PLX-500 is made by Yahorng electronic, in that case you could read "Made in Taiwan" or "Made in Malaysia" in the back. And Yahorng DD models have different platters, with magnet.

There were some limited Gold editions of PLX-1000 available. But it was last year and at the beginning of this year. But the same chinese made turntable, only different colour.

This month I have owned a PLX-1000 for two years and it's still going strong and trouble free.

I do have a PLX-1000n that says Pioneer DJ. Yes, it's a gold limited version which only 500 pairs made (sold with mixer). I was lucky enough that a local dj store had a set and one of his customer needed only the mixer and one turntable. :D

Ah, so you have one of the exclusive and rare DJ gold ones. It does sound rather lovely through my PC speakers. Just seen your post in the other thread, what a set-up! I'm very jealous =P~
