This is in great shape and plays but needs a good cleaning and new belts. One day!
That Pioneer deck is nice...Reminds me slightly of my Teac Model 22 "project deck" I bought over the summer! =D>

My first attempt at bringing a nice old table back to life!
You'll love this deck, ethorn66...I would also read this blog from our own jives11...

Lots of great information there! =D>

Thanks vinyl master,
my 12D runs great now. I replaced the belt, rebuilt the motor with new grease and put some nice rca cables on it. Oh and sanded and polished the dust cover. I couldn't get all the scratches out as some were really deep!

That Teac is a cool looking deck!

I need to find a dust cover and hinges for it.
Below it is a PL-518 that was trashed in shipping! Seller from eBay put it in a box and shipped without removing or tying down anything. The platter came off and sheared the tonearm completely off. Found some replacement parts and she's back up and running!

Just a beautiful deck! I also have a CT-F 9191 in pieces that I replaced the belts on and they work fine but the fast forward and rewind idler is giving me trouble! I do believe decks are not my thing as far as repairing goes!

Hi,
May I ask how you sanded the dustcover and got it that pristine?

This is my latest restore that I did for my father in law.
Same oak veneer however, I stained it kind of a charcoal black to match his Bose CD Wave system. We hooked it up with a phono preamp to his auxiliary function. It works and sounds great! I also machined some custom aluminum adjustable feet with rubber to absorb vibrations. (Not that he would ever play it that loud to need it! ) And I machine all the record weights/clamps that you see on my TT's.

Lots of elbow grease!
I used a 3M auto headlight repair kit that you can get from most any auto parts store or buy online.
Start out with the coarse sandpaper and work your way to the finest then the polishing compounds and finally the wax! It's quite the labor intensive process but well worth it if you want to save your original dust cover. Also use painters tape to mask off any emblems.

This table runs fine but needs some cosmetics!
Kinda rare, you can find plenty of PL-A45Ds which I believe is a latter model but I've yet to see another one like this.

Those are some super lovely Pioneer pieces Les! 8)

You need a really nice rack for that stack to fit into.

I really love the tape decks too!

I've got that tuner too and it's an excellent one. I should have a new tuner to show here in a few days.
Thanks very much Tink! That stack is my bedroom system and unfortunately, I don't have a lot of space for a rack. The good thing is that those pieces stack very well. The downside is that it's a pain to have to tear it all apart when I need to work on the amp which is at the bottom.
I know the feeling about moving this stuff all too well! #-o
It's always great to have a nice bedroom system to listen to. =D>

Someone mentioned possibly getting an SA-9100 Amp to go along with my TX-9100 Tuner, which I agree would be a nice match.

The however in doing that would be in finding a decent one at a reasonable price, so I will keep it in mind as a long term endeavor since the current asking price for them is pretty ridiculous these days. I am patient though whereas most people who pay the crazy prices aren't!

Awesome. Thanks. My PL12D dustcover is starting to get a little cloudy itself. Thanks :D
