Storing records with plastic covers

Post by tturner0626 » 07 Sep 2015 21:48

Sorry if this has been asked before, I looked around the forum and didnt find anything, but does anyone have advice on storing vinyl with plastic covers (as opposed to cardboard) like these:

(Not my photo) Mine are bending at the bottom corners from standing. Thanks!

There is this thread, that covers a lot of pro and cons of the various types of covers...

What I've done is put the record in a Mobile Fidelity sleeve, and store the MoFi sleeve in the plastic. The MoFi sleeves are translucent on one side, so you still get to see part of the picture disc.

Thanks, those MoFi sleeves look exactly like what I am looking for!

So, this may or may not be related and I write this in the hope that i am not the only neurotic in this regard: Lately, and though it may seem a waste of materials, I have gotten into the habit of slipping my records into anti static rice paper Mofi sleeves and placing them behind the record in the sleeves leaving the original inners and any inserts in the record itself. Is this paranoia or am I justified? help

I know that some of my records have a plastic outer sleave, but the record jacket is cardboard. Is that the kind of sleave your talking about?
