Liquid filled arm

Post by Prehberg » 18 May 2019 22:35

Does anyone remember a gizmo that was marketed i think in the 70's. It was a hollow plastic arm with a reservoir that acted like a counterweight that could be mounted opposite the tonearm.. You filled the arm and reservoir with a "special" fluid and and the small round brush at the end of the arm would track the record as it played and lay down a thin coating of fluid so the stylus never actually made contact with vinyl but floated on the fluid. Great idea in theory but made it impossible to play said record without it since one could not remove all the fluids (and whatever else was left) from the grooves. Had one and for the life of me can't recall who made it.
