Record Storage and Retrieval Solution

Post by brio50 » 31 Dec 2017 17:55

I've used this forum to much success in the past to help repair my old Technics SL-1300 turntable that wasn't tracking speed and thought that the community here would be interested in a product I'm trying to Kickstart called Spinmount - https://spinmount.com.

I read the site policy and JaS's posting rules and hope that it doesn't violate them since I'm prototyping a product and looking for any feedback and interest that's generated here. If it does, I understand, and don't mind if a moderator removes this post.

I invented Spinmount because I was frustrated with picture frame style vinyl storage solutions and didn't want to draw attention away from album artwork. It's pretty simple, as the following exploded view shows:

The spinning mechanism allows you to lock or unlock a corner. When you take this unit and spread it throughout a collage you can unlock one side of a record and slide it out. If a pictures worth a thousand words, I think a video is worth two: Here's a video that shows basic operation of the product:

I'm trying to determine if there's a market for this item and if you all here think it would be useful for your record collections. I have a few ideas for how to improve the design, at the moment it's not super easy to tack four nails and align multiple items. If you have any suggestions or feedback it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
