Kinda depends on what you want; the QL-7 has the cleaner looks but the QL-F4 has the full auto functionality.

My wife and I attended an audio meet in central Iowa, where I swapped a few preamp tubes for a medical grade isolation transformer...but I'm not certain yet where I'm going to use it.

I just bought a Mint Technics RS-715US Reel to Reel Tape Deck. No Scratch’s on Front anywhere but I need to Replace the Side Wood Pannel’s. Anyone got a mint Pair of Sale? The RS-1700 Series will fit also.
I’m also looking for the Original OEM Technics 7” Take Up Reel it is Smoked Color with the Technics Name on the Front of it.

I have bought a Technics RS-715US Reel to Reel Tape Deck & it was there best made in 1973. It has on it Auto Reverse, 4-Track’s,
Fast Breaking, Solonoid Operation, Stainless Steel Front, Feather Touch Control’s, 7” Reel’s,
& Wired Remote Control Operation, with Echo Sound, Wood Side Pannel’s, & Very Heavy, they spared nothing on this Model it has it all.
It is the Fastest Rewind I have ever seen in my lifetime in owning many model’s.

Also, Tag, I AM envious of the 4 channel setup you DO have. Toyed with the idea of having a 4 channel setup mi'self... didn't get there. Good for you, Tag!

Hi to all you here.

Im new in this channel and thank you for accepting me.
Acquired recently an old equipment made General Electric type Rc4679a.
It includes a vacuum tubes amplifier, AM/FM/FM stereo tuner and a Garrard R speed turntable (1000 series I guess). Im acyually replacing the original cartridge and stylus by a new MM type.

Unfortunately I damaged the cartridge cables and need to replace them, but don't know how to dismantle the tonearm.
Can anybody give me some clue about how to fix it?

Thanks in avance for your support.

You can only use a MM cartridge if the original was a MM type, otherwise it will not match up electronically. Exactly which cables are you talking about. Exactly, where are they located?

Thanks for your reply. I'm talking about the four cables (red, green, white and black) that are connected to the cartridge.
The tonearm is one piece and the cables are going straight to the base through the arm.

The original stylus is a double sided one (foldable) and the cartridge is... cerámic type?

Thanks in avance for your support.

Then you must replace with ceramic.

Hi, Javier, lenjack!
Could there be a small pre-amp put in the mix behind the turntable into the receiver-part, internally? Keeping the pre outside and outs going into the ins, again, internally? :-k Sounds "worth it", to me. 8) You know...as a modern upgrade...at that point the magnetic cart would work.

I forgot to say Welcome, Javier! You're in good company...
Len, would an mod like the pre/magnetic cart work in this application?
Also, while we're up, goto the Amazon site for the Little Bear MC2 pre-amp...it has an attenuartor to turn the gain up or down, as needed. It works really well for me.
...an' cheap, too!

I'm just saying the amp in this early 60's setup is certainly only equiped for ceramic.

I understand, Len... I was just curious if the mod would work, that's all.
