Tho I haven't TOTALLY decided "yes, I'm getting them", I have my eye on a couple of Duals...a 506 with a non-broken/adapted cartridge/headshell (my 506 was both, to the adapter and 1/2" cart and headshell) and a 1237, don't know what the cart was. OK prices and I love Duals...sumpin' about 'em, Man... stay tuned...

Well, we're back!
We came to an agreement on a lower price, as the 1237's speed control doesn't go into 45. Both platters spin, but I haven't hooked them up to receivers yet.
The 506 is a straight-up model, no -1 or -2...it has the ULM Ortofon cart that I broke the pins trying to get it off my other 506 (-1)...I'll be anxious to hear this one. Didn't get to hear the other one...
The 1237 has an AT-something...will check later, got home-stuff to do (darn!)
I'll be close, tho.

This rock n roll has gotta stop, Junior's head is hard as rock...now, Dasher, beHAVE yo'self!

Deal, eh, I bought it at a record store, but we agreed on a lesser price. He WAS upfront about the lack of 45 on the 1237.
I still haven't hooked them up, yet, so I'm not sure of the sound.
But, yeah, vm, MORE beauty to look at! Mmmm! It's a Dual!

Then play on! (Is someone else using this line, here? I hope I'm not stepping on anyone's toes...)

The issue with switching to 45 RPM can be fixed if you open a thread in the Dual Forum. It is probably something schticking.

The plays the thing, and the band played on.

I got this set of speakers to use for parties in the barn. I can't move them by myself so bought some casters and made myself some little scooter's. More of a purchase and build. They are still a little top heavy but I can move them around.

It LOOKS like a scooter, Scooter!
Tink...yeah, I thought Ol' Bill used "all that jazz", too...
Good to know about the speed control...I got the service manual the night before...
(Back Street Crawler: "The Band Plays On"...)
BY the way, if you'll look at the headshell on the 1237, it's not the same as the stock one in the manual. Any ideas?

I forgot to put these on a couple weeks ago...we got a load in from our local PBS station (UofM related). They're a couple of GE VR100 phono carts.
I raised the question as to what they were in Carts n Pre-amps...I got the answer that they probably wouldn't go with my Technics...I got 'email just because... (>shrug<)

Well, I didn't buy it THIS week, but I did buy it and got a good deal on it! I've been sitting thinking about it for a while and living with it and thought now's as good a time as any to share it with you guys...I wasn't sure I was going to make it #30. I thought #30 would be something in black, a fancy new Dual or maybe even an exotic brand, but still, it was cheap...It was in my area and I couldn't refuse a deal! Welcome my new SL-D2, with a lovely AT4414S cartridge to boot! =D>

Not too shabby, eh? :-k

By the way, stay tuned to this channel...There may be more "new" goodies coming soon!
