What equipment have you bought this week?

Post by Singlemania45 » 21 Nov 2011 17:25

I took the plunge and got myself a Rogers MCP100 MC step up to use with my Sugden C51/A51 and Quad 22/II driven systems. When I get the funds together I'll be on the look out for a suitable LO MC Cart to use with the Rogers. I also snapped up for peanuts a M91ED to add to my MM collection. The last Shure I listened to was a M75ED back in 1978 and that was fitted to a Strathearn and from memory it wasn't a great combination!

A Thorens 321/Linn Basic Plus/AT95 and already sold on.

Audiomods arm bought from funds raised by selling quite a bit recently including the above and still a bit left over for my Logic DM101 DC motor controller rebuild.

All nice and even which is the way my much much better half likes it.

Two Ikea floor standing lights for the cellar listening room. Does that count?

Bought PT Too for spares/repairs without PSU, bought PT Export GTI PSU. Have now built up PSU in external case and have fully functional PT Too albeit with massive outboard supply case.

All secondhand:
Some Black Ravioli, a Voodoo Airtek isolation platform, a set of Aurios isolation bearings, a set of Sonority Design isolation cones, a pair of Townshend Seismic Sinks for speakers and a very short (but long enough) pair of Nordost Frey interconnects. Big on isolation this week!

It does good things with the SPU Silver Meister GM and SPU Royal N that I've not experienced before.

It's play play play...

Not very exciting but a new stylus for AT 440MLa. Been about 3 years and about time to "freshen up". Must say the original stylus sounds just fine but thought I get a new one in house anyway.

Klipsch Palladiun P-17B. Lovely speakers, these will be with me for a long time.

Well... I just got a Sansui TU-717 tuner to go with my AU-717 integrated. The tuner is pretty rough but I hope to be able to get it going again. I got my eye on an equalizer next. Already have two cassette decks overhauled and ready for duty. After that, I need to think about speakers for it. I would love some Klipsch for it. I have a 5.1 system for the desktop from Klipsch and like them very much. The set is ten years old and I dropped a satellite last year. The grill broke the pins on impact, i went to the Klipsch website and they had a replacement for four dollars. You gotta love that. I was expecting to have to search the auction site for another one. Probably buy the wrong one and then have to buy all five just to get one grill. That's my usual luck. Klipsch saved me from myself. Yaaa.

Regards,

Ron.

A Lehmann Audio Black Cube Standard.

Already got a Pro-ject Phonobox SE MKI and a Trichord Dino MKI / Dino+ PSU but I've been wanting another Phonostage for a while to go with one my other TT's in the lounge.

Just popped in to a Local dealers to ask what they had and walked out with the Lehmann. call it my Birthday and Xmas present to myself.

Sounds good so far but most likely needs more break in time. Looks like it can be infinitely adjustable with loading.

Also bought a Blue Point Special EVO III with a paratrace stylus from a very kind VE member so can't wait for that to arrive.

Hi,
Equipment purchsed this week:

One set of four replacement headshell tags ( to replace worn ones) by AudioQuest.
One bottle of Record Washing Fluid from VPI
One headphone connecting adaptor from 1/4" to Mini, by Grado,
Total for all, about $40.00.
That's it for the duration.
Regards,

I obtained a pair of Rega RS5's for a friend over in Spain and they were simply astounding. I'm not usually a fan of most things Rega, but the R5's were something else.

I have since heard them in his house and they are the best sub £1000 speakers I have ever heard, period.

I hope your 3's are every bit as pleasing.
