I also have AKG, K550 but I recently got some OPPO PM-3 Planar Magnetic Headphones, which I actually prefer, although I do only use them at night so as not to disturb sleeping child therefore closed-back.
I wanna go planar magnetic too. Audeze LCD-2's are almost surely to be my next move up the headphone food chain. The LCD-2's can be had as either open or closed back.

Just acquired Koss Pro4AAA headphones for a lark expecting mediocre results but was floored as to how good they sound. I have a Sony MDR-V6 Studio Monitors which I always regarded very highly, but the Koss phones are giving them a run for the money. I also own two Pioneer SE-205 and SE-305 and Realistic Nova Pro which I regard as sub-par. The Sony is more comfortable for long time use and the Koss phones can make your ears sweat but still for sound performance, for vintage phones, I am impressed. I did acquire new ear-pads through Koss for $5.

AKG K240 600 ohm Monitor with Neomusicia leather replacement pads and foams. These vintage phones are very hard to drive well. I am currently using these with an Emotiva BAS X-A100 with jumpers giving full amp output at headphone jack, drives these phones as well as I have heard.

Also have vintage Yamaha YHD-1 Orthodynamics I use with my smart phone. These need a bit of equalization to bring up the bass a tad. My LG V30 phone does fine.

For general use on computer etc. I have Sennheiser HD 497. Nice cheap and cheerful phones. Easy to drive and sound better than they have any right to. Chose them over Grado SR60 as I found the Grados bit too "hot" on top and fatiguing. A close run choice.

At home, primarily a pair of Denon AH-D950 that my dad got at a thrift store.

These are almost 100% plastic, so don't suggest anything special, but they sound very good, and are light and comfortable. Only gripe is that if I move my head too much, or too quickly, the plastic hinges will creak a little, so I try not to do that :D

I also have a pair of Marley headphones that look kinda cool, but they don't cover the ear entirely, and are a little boomy.

Whenever I travel via airplane, I use a pair of the Bose noise-cancelling headphones, and they are very effective at their job. They also fold-up nicely in their case, and are easy to store. The cord can be removed if not actually listening to anything, but the noise cancellation will still work.

For exercising, I have switched from earbuds to in-ear monitors, now using a pair of KZ ZS10 Pro.

Stax SR 40, AKG K240 (ca. 1980), Superlux HD 681, Superlux HD387 when "on the road".

I prefer the both Superlux about the others.

AKG 701 plugged into a DragonFly Red using the USB 3 outlet on a laptop. Youtube sounds great. :D

My wife has P3s too and loves them too. The P9s are a league above the P7s as they have angled drive units for better imaging.

Awesome Tonybro. Someday I will invest in a pair of B&W tower speakers. I have yet to experience a speaker product from these guys that does not impress me =D>

I alternate between Sennheiser HD 650, Grado SR325e and HiFiMAN HE 400S headphones. Can't pick a favorite -- like each of them for different reasons.

I have a pair of Sennheiser HD25 Lite that I adore, however I need to be able to DJ with them. (wife bought me the wrong model for my birthday...) I'm buying a Sennheiser replacement coil cord (meant for the HD25 II's) and am going to attempt to modify my Lites with it, either by running the excess wire to the left terminal on the inside of the headband with some new padding to hold it in place, or I'll just let one side dangle lower than the other. Beats stepping on your cord while you're DJing.
