Tape deck belts...

Post by DasherF » 19 Feb 2019 01:32

Hi, All!
Along with having turntables, I cling to my cassette decks, some of which I would like to know where good supply shops are. Can you Help on this one? Also (haven't checked yet) are there service manuals for tape decks of any kind in the lib'ary? I'm looking t'wards Total Retirement Day (date pending, but getting tired of bussing to work...can't haul anything 8) ).
Yeah, TRD me, ASAP!

Round belts can be sorted out if you spend quality time with the PARKER o-ring catalogue on line. It is not too easy to understand at first but you’ll eventually get it.

Square belts are usually available in similar “dash numbers” as the round belts, but not all of them.

Flat, wide belts are the hardest to track down.

Gary Stork on his "VM" site has extensive listings for belts for turntables, tape decks.
I've purchased enough of them and endorse his offerings.

Vintage-Electronics.Net and turntableneedles.com both specialize in belts for a wide selection of electronic gear. I have used both, and would recommend either without a moment's hesitation. I have ordered all three main types of belts from them, and have never had to return a product nor had any quality issues. ***** =D>

You have to create an account but they have a hell of service manuals for tape (and cassette), similar to this forum here:

Great way to wake up in the morning (even though my car wouldn't start...winter in Minnesota...go figure...hey-ey...a day home? With all this news?)!
Thank you, Jim, spinner, AOR, and H. This should get me good sources. Thanks much!
