I second IKEA.

I have a long gooseneck light with a single led in the head. Lights up the table great. And it’s like $12. My only complaint is it does not have a dimmer. And it uses a Wal-wart so be sure to not plug it into the same circuit as your audio components.

Just bought this one. I like that it runs on a re-chargeable lithium battery, will clip on the back of my stand, is goosenecked, has 3 types of light, and a dimmer.

Just by description alone, I think I have the same Ikea lamp as Jim Leach. Epoxy'd to the side of my wooden stand, it reaches to light up both of my main TTs below. Inexpensive, versatile, and looks quite sophisticated. :)

Forgot to add that the Ikea HÅRTE lamp is about $20, I got mine on sale at half price. Powered by a usb wallwart.

I just looked at (another one, for another use) and it is called: "Jansjo". Looks to be a 7V output to the light. They have a few mounting options (clip and heavy base for sure) as well.
