Monoprice Monolith M1060 Headphones

Postby Airfix27ra » 21 Jun 2018 22:46

Hello everyone.

This is a general ask of all those who have these headphones.
What do you think of them?
I have just recently brought a pair and am very impressed with them,
especially considering the price. The one thing I have done is to make
a replacement lead, using Mogami 2534 cable, at a third of the price of the
cable from Arcticcables. It has made a difference. Have others done the same?
Happy listening.

Monoprice is junk pretending to be middle-class. You would be better off with a product that is actually made by the company that sells it, such as Sennheiser or Audio Technica. And don’t get me started on “beats”.

Just one question, what do you mean by "beats"? Seeing as I have not mentioned anything about a beat?
I am also not quite sure what you mean by get you started?? Started on what?? Puzzled.
It is obvious that you do not like them, fair enough, your opinion.

Beats.... Are wildly overpriced headphones designed by some chinese company and endorsed by a retired athlete who shall remain nameless.
It was/is a typical high-profile marketing scheme that people went nuts over.
And some even got robbed or killed over those headphones.
It's some kind of a "status symbol" thing.
From what I've also heard, those headphones fell apart, were cheaply made, and basically a laugh.

Thanks Spinner 45, at least I now know what Sleepwalker 65 is talking about.
I always believe, especially when it comes to Hi Fi, if you like what you hear
and are happy with it, sorted. as a bye the bye, I did actually listen to a pair of
Sennheiser HD 800, yes they were better, but NOT £500(the difference in price), better.

Have you made any sort of effort to actually listen to them (Monolith phones)?

Beats headphones are actually the brand of some idiot rapper sold at ridiculously high prices. They are really popular because a lot of people worship rappers. The product is terrible, throw-away build quality and even worse sound quality. Too bad the legitimate brands that make good-sounding headphones can’t get that market share, because they (Sennheiser, Audio Technica et al) really deserve it more than some asshole rapper. (Rant over :-) )

No, I haven’t. I despise monoprice because they use deceptive marketing tactics.

Interesting post, my original post was specifically asking people who own these headphones
their opinion. You have not even HEARD them!! Also please read my third post. Just because you do not like something, to describe it as "junk", when you have no experience of it, is a bit rich! In doing so as a response to my post, you are implying that I am a bit thick and stupid, to which I take Umbridge.

I apologize if my opinion made you feel like I was criticizing your choice. I was only criticisizing Monoprice.

Thank you, prehaps I overreacted. Of course an opinion is just that, I proberbly took it the wrong way. Very good of you to reply as you have. Peace and happiness.

Prehaps if you get the chance to listen to a pair, you might be pleasently surprised, especially taking into account the price.

I wish you a nice day.

I own a pair of M-560's and a pair of M-300's. I'm very satisfied with both.

Sleepwalker65, please let us know what false/dishonest advertising Monoprice is using.

I have a pair of Trisonic Studio Monitor headphones (TS-YK3000) that I use for testing amps on the bench.
I paid $7.95 for them, and ya know what?
They sound superb!
