Just remember to allow about 2 to 3 inches rearward and about 1 inch on each side of the receiver for ventilation.
Two circular 3 inch holes bored in the back panel will add airflow, and access for wiring.
I allowed about an inch on both side of the receiver and six inches in the back, and I plan on having an oval cutout in the back as seen in the second sketch. How much clearance on the top should I have?
an inch should suffice

Wanting a Bluetooth speaker with a radio for outdoor activities last year and having limited funds, I found myself retrofitting a old Sony boombox with a $6 DIY Bluetooth module. While no obvious change in appearance aside from a blue LED seen flashing inside through openings when on, and I didn't think to take pictures while putting it together, I'll give it mention here as well, and leave a link to a photo. viewtopic.php?f=112&t=107774#p952402
