Question...I just saw this ad for Citi Bank's Double Cash Back incentive...The ad features TWO of everything, including these two turntables at the start of the ad...Am I looking at the "DJ" version of my 40a or are these different Elacs altogether? Each one looks slightly different as well, especially the tonearms... :-k

Here's mine...

They look different than the 10H...No curved heasdshell...

What say you guys? Any guesses?

Otherwise, I have another conundrum for you...This time, it's The Bangles' "All Over The Place"...What's that crazy-looking record player/turntable on the cover? :-k

I did read a bit more of this thread and I think, that there never was an answer to this question...

That is one neat looking turntable! I'm betting this one is very hard-to-find these days!

Not sure about that.

I don´t think so, then it should be the second with Keanu Reeves. The first time he was more gentle to the record.

Very interesting. Especially that it is from 1963, i considered linears to only have shown up slowly in the 70s.
But the operating button being responsible for lifting and moving the cartridge around gives me trouble. Shouldn´t it be possibe to totally scratch the record by accidentally turning the knob when the stylus is in the groove?

If it would be possible, to move the tonearm without pushing the knob down, it would increase the versatility of this turntable. Then you could use it as a lathe... .

I asked that question a while back on the LP cover quiz thread:
viewtopic.php?f=41&t=47359&start=1125

This is what Melos Antropon replied:

Well there we have it. Way cool. I'm a little suspicious about the tonearm, but that may just be because it's different.
