Speaking of which, I still need to put my visit to Hymie's up on MRSA...
Waiting patiently for it, Dasher...

I'm sure it was a good time had by all! :)

So, not today but I feel the need to tell this short story. I went into one of my local haunts about a week ago, and dug through the bins. This place grades most (although they claim all) of their inventory, and anything they feel is a "B" or higher is cleaned and put into resealable outers. Anything in those, they ask that you open at the register to look at. I always do. The owner always tells me that he's graded thousands of records and I should just trust his grading. Whatever. So on this trip I grab two 'sealed' albums and a couple others that were just in the bins unmarked.

One of which being a VG+ RL pressing of Led Zeppelin.. for $3.

Should have been Led Zeppelin II, not sure what happened there. But yes, I did luck out. Although, if he'd looked at the runout.. ;)

You're right...it's too bad it wasn't...Led Zep I, then, dysmike?
Not too much of a big thing, just curious...
Agreed, tho, what a find!
I have an LZII that I bought new and thanks to loaning it out to bamd members, not knowing what it was, it's been thru the mill...there definitely is a difference between that copy and a Specialty I found.

Bought these two today. A good spacey, island sound Yma Sumac album and a really great Cuban mambo album by Perez Prado

And after another trip to Jerry's with a list if records I already had (which of course disappeared before I was done, and I still managed to buy a duplicate), I left with 21 more selections.

Unreadable singles in last picture are; Rockin Sidney "My Toot Toot", Gary & US Bonds "Quarter to Three", and Donnie Iris "Love is Like A Rock". Belafonte records at top of second to last picture are "the Many Moods Of, and "Paradise in Gasankulu" (sealed). While I took inventory of what was on the shelves, I found another still sealed copy of Neil Diamond "headed for The Future" in a bag of forgotten and recently rediscovered still to be played records my mother had bought #-o

And, while I didn't buy these records, they were in one of many free grab boxes by the front door thumbing for a ride home. As I had been asked in another thread about a sign at Jerry's mentioning boxes of free records, I thought i'd grab one this trip and reveal it's contents. Many are in decent condition, and a few are still sealed. While I tried to fit them all in one picture, there are just too many to make a full size bed with (pardon the clutter), I may now have a bit of exploratory listening on the agenda with some of these, and also with many I have not yet heard in my previous post...

Both from Discogs, both NM vinyl and VG+ cover, and both excellent copies, very pleased.

My haul from thrifts and record shops for the weekend.
The Chicago and Sheila E. are upgrade copies.

Are those their stickers on the covers/sleeves? If so, that would be a deal breaker for me. Just one man's opinion....

You know, my local antique mall does like to put stickers on their albums...They're not too hard to remove, though...They might even have a different type of adhesive on them...Of course, even though some dealers don't use outer sleeves, many of them do and it does look like many of Jerry's albums are also in outers, too...If the prices were right, they wouldn't be a dealbreaker for me...

Nice haul of records there, Tankist...I'm a fan of the Yutaka stuff...The strange thing is...It's the only album I DON'T have by him, so now I'll have to look for a copy myself...Of course, I'm also a Hiroshima fan and have been digging a lot of Japanese jazz and pop lately...I have a few of your other finds, too...Good stuff, in any case! 8)
