Filling in some holes in my collection, picked up VG copies of Red Octopus by Jefferson Airplane and Close to the Edge by prog group Yes. Two of the "best of" albums for each group...quite pleased for one day discoveries. :D

Michael Buble, Love. Some great standards, and it's eerie how Elvis, Frank and Nat seem almost real. Wish he'd cover Nature Boy (in a manner of speaking).
Prefer the LP sound over the CD.

I just got a copy of Dylan's Greatest Hits - vol. II.
It appears to be a 1971 pressing.

The outer sleeve aside, the two LPs look very nice... almost NM.
So, I will play them first. If they sound great, I will leave well enough alone and not wet clean them. :)

A very nice find from the weekend! A quick stop in a thrift store and found an excellent (very good +?) copy of Leontyne Price Prima Donna Volume #1 on RCA Red Seal LSC-2892 box set :) Ironically (co-incidentally?) I have recently finished Alex Ross' Listen To This Book....in which he raves about Price's voice and recordings. So I recognized the LP set =D> (I wouldn't have had it not been for the book) and couldn't resist it....at .99
The question now is- should I save this for when the Garrard Model A is restored and ready for vinyl or play it on the "modern" SL-15?

You mean "Cry Me A River" on this, her first album? :)

First recorded in 1953 by Julie London herself, this Arthur Hamilton song was originally written for Ella Fitzgerald to sing in the film "Pete Kelly's Blues", but was dropped.

Looks good! ;) also that is the same Andre Previn who is responsible for one of my favorite soundtracks- ROLLERBALL (1975 classic art sci-fi film not the terrible watered down remake)

Hey there, Chris...I'm sure you'll be "adjusted" to this site in no time! What turntable are you using? Receiver or amplifier? Speakers? You picked some great choices there...You should tell your "first record" story here...

https://www.vinylengine.com/turntable_f ... 41&t=83133

Read a bit here and you'll learn a lot! Maybe even contribute to a few threads since you're such a lifelong vinyl fan! =D>

By the way, how many records would you say you have in the collection? Trust me when I say that whatever that number is, it is never enough!! #-o
