Went a little crazy at the record store - all pre-owned:

Jeff Beck - Truth
John Fogerty - Eye Of The Zombie

I am hoping the Jeff Beck disc fared better than the album cover!

Just received my preorders today for the new U2 remasters. All accounts are that these new releases are better than the originals and that was certainly true of Pop. Very happy!

G'day Folks...
I've been checking in from time to time, but haven't posted here for quite a while. I found an Aussie forum, StereoNetAust, which I've been hooked by.
No offence to you wonderful people, as you were the first Music/Vinyl forum I engaged with, and will forever hold a special place in my heart.

I've also been digging through my CD and Digital music, getting re-acquainted with everything, not just my Records. Things are very tight financially for me right now, so I haven't been able to buy any Vinyl for a while... but, I did pick these up at one of our local Op Shops, for the princely sum of 25 cents each, the least I have ever paid for Records...

I do have a better copy of this one, the previous owner obviously liked this one. But, the next three are in pristine condition...

The Crosby Stills... is going for around $100 in mint condition. I got a pretty good one NM for $30. Really I'm not collecting in that way, I just wanted to hear the music on that great album on vinyl, and I couldn't find a decent one cheaper.

All are near-mint except Julie London and Heart's Magazine album.

The jewel here is The Best Of Fleetwood Mac (A.K.A. The Pious Bird Of Good Omen) as it is an original (1969) release from The Netherlands.

I was feelin' pretty good, looking them over at home, until I saw that Bare Trees by Fleetwood Mac is a (gasp) record club copy!

Gaaa!!

I checked all the others and there were no more... they can all stay.

That is something I always used to check for, before anything else. I slipped up this time, for being out of practice.
What's the deal with 'record club' copies? Are they inferior in some way? I might have some, since I didn't know there was a difference. How do you tell it's a record club copy?

I only paid $7.50 for it but it's not in NM condition, more like VG. The cover, however is VG+. Like you, I wanted it for the music. There were actually two of these there and I had to make a choice based on condition. The other one was about the same but the cover wasn't as good.

Picked these up yesterday.
Pink Floyd is a new copy.
Not sure if PPL is still sealed or a re seal. Disc looks new, either way.

About to listen to it now. I have the other two you mentioned,as well.
I have never heard this album before so will have no base to reference it to. Animals and Dark Side sound good to me on my modest set up.

Just listened to A Saucerful Of Secrets. While I was aware of this going in, it is definately a different sound than the later Floyd I am more familiar with. Side 2 is very disjointed. I do not partake of any "enhancers" so I guess I will never get the full effect! :D
The record itself sounds good to me, but as stated before I have never heard it before today so cannot compare to any other pressing/recording.

Picked these up. The re-release of Pauls Boutique has been pretty nice. The Nena, just brings back memories.

Nena is cool...If you dig that one, look for her 1985 LP...Everyone knows of "99 Luftballons", but there is more to her sound! Just for you, dysmike...

I remember that song, it was on Feuer und Flamme I had this on cassette! (actually like most of the music I bought at that point in life, portability was important! :) )

You might like this one, too! A great cover of the Ike & Tina Turner classic! 8)

Above & Beyond & Gareth Emery pres. OceanLab ‎– On A Good Day (Metropolis) 2010 UK original single M / M from discogs (paid over the odds for this, but I'm such a fan and to find one in such perfect condition from warehouse stock is very unusual)
