Aretha has left us today.

She and Ella were a different class.

In reality, Areatha did not have the very best voice and nether do/did some great singers.... Billie Holiday and Bob Dylan are two that come to mind .

Like them it is what Aretha did with her voice is what is remarkable. :)

There will never be another like our Aretha...A true classy legend, in every sense of the word...If any of you guys have some Aretha singles, LP's, or 12" records, make sure to pull them all out and have a listening marathon...If not, make sure to check out some of my own personal favorite highlights here...

And then, go out and get some of them any which way you can! =D>

I forgot to mention that particularity in Aretha's case, it was the person behind the voice that was also all important

Here's a great article about the Queen that I found...

Just an amazing woman! There truly will never be another like her, which also makes me excited to see the film about her, starring Jennifer Hudson, when it comes out! =P~

Aretha was without doubt one of a kind! =D>

Isn't ironic that The Queen of Soul and The King of Rock and Roll should pass on the same day?

I hope the movie with Jennifer Hudson is good since it would make for a fitting tribute.

R.I.P. Leon Russell. He was an old customer at my store in Tulsa back in the 70's, I let him shop after we closed. Great music Leon.

A lot of tributes to the Queen have been pouring in, too...Take a look at what some of her closest friends are saying!

Stevie looks so heartbroken, as he should be, since they were lifelong pals!
