Unabashedly...and maybe it's because I'm from the Detroit area of things, I still think Anita's "Rapture" is one of the finest, no-filler, all-killer soul albums ever produced...

And I'll follow with Doors by Cat Stevens

Or maybe, back to 1938 for Dark Rapture by Count Basie with Helen Humes

And now for a rare one...Anyone remember the band Zebra? :-k They were promoted as the next Zeppelin (with a little Yes and Floyd thrown in), but in 1983...Here's their first single for Atlantic Records...

Zebra - Who's Behind The Door?

Turns out that the same guy who signed Zebra signed Greta Van Fleet, too...Coincidence? :-k

I'll go with Count Zebra & The Seasiders: Cat-O-Nine

Just watch out for those relentless little bloodsuckers lurking on the other side of the record #-o

Nice stuff, B! Now, I must share an artist that reminds me of a mix of Flora Purim, Al Jarreau and Sade and is on the Zebra Records label...

Kenia - There Is A Place

So, now I'm going to go with a song featuring Peter Cetera on background vocals, Verdine White on bass and Jack Nitzsche's strings...Something a little spacey...

James Vincent - Space Traveller

Spacey? I think I might just enjoy a little Canibus with Biz Markee singing "Shove This Jay Oh Bee" (Office Space soundtrack)
