I cannot listen to Gordon Lightfoot singing about "The Wreck Of The Edmund Fitzgerald" without thinking about the dead crew of that ship. And I heard the news accounts of that disaster when it was current. I cry when hearing this tune due to that.

An extract from Gavin Bryars "The Sinking of the Titanic. This is part of the expanded version released in 95, which is based on an earlier shorter version (around 25 minutes) originally released about 75 on the Brian Eno "Obscure' label.

Man, I had no idea there was such darkly moving Classical out there. I'm going to investigate further. Thanks guys!

Two of the many by Elliott Smith (in hopes that someone actually watches these like I do): ... re=related

If you haven't gotten into this guy then you are really missing out... no matter what your preferred style of music is.

Blue Days Black Nights (Buddy Holly) gets me too. And pretty much anything on "69 Love Songs" by Magnetic Fields or the first Joy Division LP.

Hi Chaps,
The piece of music that upsets me the most is
"Timi Yuro's" :( look down Billy Butler Radio Merseyside
played this for me sixteen yrs ago on loseing my best
mate and I still miss her deeply.
Another piece that gets to me is Bruchs Violin concerto
played by Ruggiero Ricci.
I hope their not going to play anything for me yet I'm
not ready to PoP my Clogs yet I've got a lot of poles
to climb
