Beatles "In My Life" has special meaning for me because I had the radio on the night of Lennon's murder. The DJ, clearly shaken, announced Lennon was believed dead, and played this song. My recollection is the station suspended all commercials for the rest of that day and played nothing but Lennon-centric songs for quite a while. Anyway for whatever reason, that moment is etched in my brain and I kind of relive it every time I hear it. I'm pretty sure the station was KMET-FM, or else KLOS-FM (both were in Los Angeles; KMET is defunct now).

Cry - You don't have to cry by CSN or Throne room and end title from Star Wars OST (Yeah. Weird, but it gets me every time!)

Die - You give a little love from Bugsy Malone OST

Dance - I am the resurrection by The Stone Roses

Not one mention for this, but it gets me every time I hear it... :( With my dad gone last year, it's me, my mom and my sister...I think it's been hardest for my mom, but we have to hold each other up and help when we can to get through the hard times...If any of you have parents still living, please tell them how much you love them before it's too late...

I don't know, but it's something about Helen Reddy's voice, too, as these two examples prove...

So my newly created Pandora channel immediately started with, LVB's Symphony 7 in A Major Op. 72: II Allegretto, part of Sir Roger Norrington's collection of Funeral Music......
Pandora wrote:Based on what you've told us so far, we're playing this track because it features a supremely inspired melody, an overall compositional virtuosity, a passionate atmosphere, a subdued, expressive aesthetic and a feeling of melancholy.
^ as part of a continuation on musical algorithms :-k

Somehow, I'm wondering if Max, recently deceased, is reaching out to me......

Sam Stone-John Prine

https://youtu.be/Sl9ZkYViEIs

Sam Stone came home
To his wife and family
After serving in the conflict overseas

And the time that he served
Had shattered all his nerves
And left a little shrapnel in hs knee

But the morphine eased the pain
And the grass grew 'round his brain
And gave him all the confidence he lacked
With a Purple Heart and a monkey on his back

There's a hole in daddy's arm
Where all the money goes
Jesus Christ died for nothing I suppose

Little pitchers have big ears
Don't stop to count the years
Sweet songs never last too long
On broken radios

Sam Stone's welcome home
Didn't last too long
He went to work, he'd spent his last dime

And Sammy took to stealing
When he got that empty feeling
For a hundred dollar habit, without overtime

And the gold rolled through his veins
Like a thousand railroad trains
Eased his mind in the hours that he chose
While the kids ran around wearing other
People's clothes

There's a hole in daddy's arm
Where all the money goes
Jesus Christ died for nothing I suppose

Little pitchers have big ears
Don't stop to count the years
Sweet songs never last too long
On broken radios

Sam Stone was alone
When he popped his last balloon
Climbing walls while sitting in a chair

Well, he played his last request
While the room smelled just like death
With an overdose hovering in the air

But life had lost it's fun
And there was nothing to be done
Trade his house that he bought on the GI Bill
For a flag draped casket on a local heroes hill

There's a hole in daddy's arm
Where all the money goes
Jesus Christ died for nothing I suppose

Little pitchers have big ears
Don't stop to count the years
Sweet songs never last too long
On broken radios
