I do have a new update: This playing session will be interrupted by my latest copy of "Please Please Me" when it comes in the mail, no matter which album was going to be next. After I get past the White Album, I am going to skip "Abbey Road" and "Let It Be". I already got the best sound I could get out of them, and will leave the records alone. However, this doesn't mean I won't search for the British originals in the future. Instead, I will listen to "Cloud Nine", "The Rod Stewart Album" and "Chicago VIII" before I finally put my Technics turntable away and get back to the classical records. I tested the former and heard much less sibilance. Regarding Chicago VIII, I have seemed to have bad luck with many copies. As for "Cloud Nine", my old copy has a ton of sibilance distortion, which I just cannot stand. I remember my first stereo copy of the first Monkees album had this problem.

Replacement copy. Hoping it's better. "Twist and Shout" turned white under an LED flashlight, but pressing the mono switch makes the low crackling distortion disappear. Under normal bright light even it stays black. Still need the mono switch, or the album won't come out true mono, so it will get used. Recording in mono on Adobe Audition on the computer doing the recording.

One positive change: The title song does not have the fadeout noise my old copy had. This will be much more enjoyable, as I was unable to avoid tracking that noise with a lot of cartridges. This time I will be able to get 100% of that song without the noise and at higher quality. Still, this LP will get one play only. Also, so far there's no sibilance distortion at all. The other one doesn't either. After this record, I will go straight to "We Can Work It Out" backed with "Day Tripper", and then "Rubber Soul" follows. That is, if I don't record the 45rpm copy of "Yesterday"/"Act Naturally", which has not been touched in ages. Same with "Nowhere Man"/"What Goes On".

FYI, the folder I used for my old copy was renamed to "Please Please Me (old copy)". This way I don't overwrite its files. In the future, if I use my Thorens turntable, it will need to be connected to the smaller amplifier first, so that I can get the mono switch usable.

The inner grooves of "Please Please Me" are very demanding. Tomorrow I will give it a listen on my Thorens TD126 MK III with the anti-skate set at 0.75 instead of 0.5. 0.5 is enough for most records, but not enough for that album, as "Twist And Shout" is too demanding for my Technics SL-1200MK2. "The Five Suites for Orchestra, Volume II needed less anti-skate", or 0.375. The next album for tonight is "Rubber Soul", but there's one more 45rpm record to be played before then. Look in the 45rpm record playing thread to see which one.

Restarting the Beatles albums with an even better tracking stylus. No need to use my Thorens TD126 MK III.
