Roy Orbison in a 1967 movie...

Post by JDJX » 10 May 2019 00:08

I had no idea that Roy Orbison made this'67 movie ...."The fastest Guitar Alive'" until I just saw it on cable TV.
It's a civil war era comedy and Roy wore no glasses which of course became one of his "trademarks"

I was playing in a bar last night and this was playing on the TV. I told my bandmate about it and he said the name of the movie. I caught a bit of the end credits and noticed Sam the Sham was also in the movie.

In reality, the premise of the move is basically just a vehicle to have Roy in the movie .
It's not a great movie of course but its a fascinating glimpse into earlier Roy Orbison .

BTW, I once met "Sam The Sham" briefly when he had a gig in a local large rock bar/ club which I frequented.
There was a dinner right next to the rock club and that is where i got to speak to him briefly
He was having diner and I did not want to bother him too much .
He was quite friendly though :)
