Found this LP at a collectibles shop that sells lots of vinyl. This copy is on Castle Records and is definitely a UK release from 1972. Is anyone familiar with this label/copy combo? I have had a Castle release before of Black Sabbath but it sucked. That release had no bass at all and was extremely low in volume. It required cranking the volume so high that the surface noise covered up some of the music. I'm a little apprehensive because of it being on the Castle label. And he wants $32.75 for it which I think, is simply too much. What are your opinions of this?
Where did you find that? I went there looking for some info but couldn't find any on there. That is exactly the kind of information I was looking for. That confirms that $32.75 is waaay too much for that release and I will no longer consider it. Instead, I'm buying a copy from discogs for $9 including shipping. And It's on the Bronze/Mercury label that I'm familiar with. Thanks, guys.
Get the originals...There is nothing like the originals! Their "Top 5" should now be in your collection, if you don't have them..."Uriah Heep", "Salisbury", "Demons & Wizards", "The Magician's Birthday" and "Look At Yourself"...If you can the live album and Ken Hensley's two solo albums ("Proud Words On A Dusty Shelf" and "Eager To Please") should be also on your list!
I have all of those except Magician's Birthday and Eager to please. I did have MB and D&W before but when CD's came about, I stupidly traded them in because I have the CD now. I hate myself every day for all the vinyl I dumped thinking it was a dead medium. One of life's regrets...
